Heden den 26 Maart 1831 compareerde voor m:r Michiel Adriaan Smuts,
Notaris Publiek, ten dezen Gouvernement, [g’admitteerd, M:A:S:] en aan de
hoofdplaatse residerende, ten byweesen der natenoemene getuigen.
Gerrit Nicolaas Michau, in huwelyk hebbende Francina Dorothea Flamme,
Johan Franciscus Flamme, en Johanna Maria Hendrica Flamme, alle meerderjaarige
erfgenamen, in de nalatenschap van wylen hun vader Fredrik Wilhelm Flamme, alle
alhier woonagtig.
Te kennen gevende hoe der comp:ten vader Fredrik Wilhelm Flamme en
nagelatene weduwe, Johanna Sophia Breedschoe, weduwe wylen Fredrik Wilhelm
Flamme, by acte codicillour sub dato 27 November 1830 voor mij Notaris en
getuygen gepasseerd, onder andere heeft gewild “dat aan hunlieder moeder, de
vrye keuse zal worden gelaten om zoo uit de vaste als losse goederen,
mitsgaders lyfeigenen des boedels voor zig te behouden, als zy sal mogen
verkiesen tegens eene door Heeren Executeuren, met overleg van deskundige
gemaakte en bepaalde tauxatie, zullende het overige des boedels, volgens
testament gerealiseerd en den boedel binnen den korts mogelijke tijd tot
liquiditeit worden gebragt. Dat Heeren Weesmeesteren als executeuren des
boedels hunner ouders, naar aanleiding van het hier bovengem: den boedel aan
hunne moeder op derzelver deswegens gedaan versoek, het welk zy comp:ten, by
deeze zyn herhalend hebbende terug gegeven, ten einde daarmede te laten
geworden zonder dat Heeren Weesmeesteren zig met onse vaderlyke erffenissen
zullen hebben te bemoeyen, weshalve zy comp:ten als nu verder verklaarden
opgem: Heeren Weesmeesteren en hunne hiervoren omschreven qualiteit, ter zaake
en ontvangst hunner erfdeelen, van alle aanspraakelykheid, verantwoordelykheid
des wegens te ontslaan, kost en schadeloos te houden onder verband van hunne
persoonen en goederen, als na regten.
Aldus gedaan en gepasseerd inde Kaapstad ,
de Kaap de Goede Hoop op jaar, maand en dag voorsch: in presentie van Jaques
Teron, Henry Smuts en Jan Willem Moorrees als getuigen, die de minute dezes,
benevens de comp:ten en my Notaris, op een zegel van een ryksdaalder hebben
ondertekend.

I do hereby acknowledge to have received from the Secretary to the Orphan
Board the sworn bonds specified in a certain statement stating the amount
spent, the account sent in by me to the Orphan Board as administering the
inheritance of my minor children and the estate of the late P:M: Strein, drawn
up on the 15th March 1831 and signed by myself and major sons and daughter and
which said statement is annexed to and specially referred to in a certain act
executed on the 15 March 1831 before the Notary Michiel Adriaan Smuts whereby
the bonds above mentioned are specially mortgaged to the Orphan Chamber in the
amount spent inheritance and debt.
