MOOC8/73.29 {18320206} 6 February 1832 Johannes Stephanus Viljoen Maria Isabella de Vos Inventory and appraisement of all such goods, effects and slaves, as have been possessed in community by the late Johannes Stephanus Viljoen and surviving widow Maria Isabella de Vos, and which have been left by the intestate death of the first mentioned on the 12 June 1832 to his five minor children, viz: formed and inventoried by me Albertus Philippus Hiebner, Notary Public, duly admitted and sworn residing at the Paarl , Cape of Good Hope, on the requisition of the Board of Orphan Masters, the same being given up by the said widow and appraised by Messers Johannes Francois du Toit Steph:s son and Francois Hermanus Retief Pieter son, consisting of Household furniture Appeared before me, the Notary, the above mentioned Maria Isabella de Vos, widow of the late Johannis Stephanus Viljoen, who declared to have acted honestly and to the best of her knowledge in pointing out and giving up the goods effects, debts and credits, belonging to the joint estate, promising and binding herself, should she hereafter discover any goods or effects belonging to this estate, which may have been forgetten, that she will give the necessary information thereof in order that this inventory and appraisement may be ampliated therewith. Aand the above mentioned Johannis Francois du Toit Stephanus son and Francois Hermanus Retief Pieter son, who also appaired before me declared to have acted to the best of their knowledge and skill in the appraisement of this estate. Thus done, inventoried and appraised at the place called Klipfontein situated at the Paardebergh , district of Stellenbosch , on the 6th day of July 1832 in the presence of Mess:rs Carel Christiaan de Villiers and Joachim Daniel Haupt as witnesses who, with the appearers and me the Notary, have subscribed the minute hereof on stamps of nine and a half rixdollars. Quod attestor: A:P: Hiebner, Not: Public Johannis Francois du Toit Stephanus son and Francois Hermanus Retief Pieter son make oath and say that they have carefully and truly appraised the property above set forth, that they have no interest in this estate and that they consider the same to be worth the sum of eleven thousand three hundred and fifty two rixdollars seven skillings and two stivers, which is a just, proper and true valuation to the best of there skill and knowledge.
