MOOC8/72.19b {18300911} 11 September 1830 Gedejon Johannis Slabbert Hester Johanna Strydom Inventory and appraisement of the effects left by the intestate death of Hester Johanna Strydom born in this Colony and who by accident was drowned in crossing the Sunday River on the 19th January 1830 aged 21 years to her surviving husband Gideon Johannis Slabbert and to their one minor child begotten in marriage, named on account of the aforesaid estate has been taken in writing and appraised by the Fieldcornet P:A: Gouws, Reynier Johannis Petrus Strydom and Josua Gideon Petrus Joubert and consists as follows, viz: No claims in favor or against the estate Thus inventoried by the Agent of the Orphan Chamber at Uitenhage on the 11th day of September 1830 according to an inventory transmitted by the Fieldcornet P:A: Gouws, the surviving husband being present, who declared to have acted with good faith in this respect and not to have kept anything concealed belonging to the abovementioned estate and do further declare that he is and will at all times be ready and willing to confirm his statement by solemn oath if required, promising at the same time that if after the date of these presents any other property of this estate might be discovered he shall faithfully communicate it to the Orphan Chamber or to any of their respective agents in the country districts in order to amplify this inventory with the property so discovered In witness whereof I the Agent of the Orphan Chamber with the surviving husband have subscribed to these presents.
