MOOC8/71.22a {18290522} 22 May 1829 Hendrik Petrus van Staden Hester Elisabeth van Rooyen Inventory and appraisement of the effects left by the intestate death of Hester Elizabeth van Rooy /born in this Colony and departed this life on Sunday 10th May 1829 at the place Wellige Fontyn situated in the district of Uitenhage aged 28 years/ to her surviving husband Hendrik Petrus van Staden and to their seven minor children begotten in marriage, named on account of the aforesaid estate has been taken and inventoried and appraised by the Field Cornet Gert Stephanus Viljoen and Roelof Petrus Oelofse and consists as follows, viz: Thus inventoried and appraised on the 22nd of May in the year of our Lord 1829 according to a statement delivered by the widower before named, who declared to have acted with good faith in this respect and not to have kept any thing concealed belonging to the above estate, and the appearer further declared that he is and will at all times be ready and willing to confirm his statement by solemn oath if required, promising at the same time that if after the date of these presents any other property of his estate might be discovered he shall faithfully communicate it to the Orphan Chamber or their respective Agents in the country districts, in order to amplify this inventory with the property so discovered. In witness whereof I the Agent of the Orphan Chamber with the appearer and the Field Cornet subscribed to these presents.
