MOOC8/48.7 {18330905} 5 September 1833 Hilletje Aletta Smith Exhibited 11 Sept: 1833 Cape district f:118 Inventory of all such property as has been relinquished by the intestate death of Hilletje Aletta Smith widow of Gideon van Dyk senior on the 5:th of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three for the benefit of her children and grand children, namely The aforesaid property having been taken under the administration of the Board of Orphan Masters for the benefit of her aforesaid heirs and been inventoried was found to consist as follows At the place of Mr Gideon van Dyk called Steenboks Fontuin , Cape district Thus done and inventoried in the Orphan Chamber at the Cape of Good Hope on the 5 of Septemb: 1833 according to a statement made by Johannes Christiaan Jac:s Brand who declared to have acted herein bona fide and that to the best of his knowledge he has not withheld or secreted any thing of what belonged to the aforesaid estate, and the appearer further declared that he is and will at all times be ready and willing to confirm his statement by solemn oath if required, promising at the same time that if after the date of these presents any property belonging to the aforesaid estate might be discovered he shall faithfully communicate it to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory with the property so discovered. As witnesses: M: Myburgh, J: V: Berrangé J:C:J: Brand In my presence: R: v: Breda, Clerk We the undersigned heirs in the estate of the late Hilletje Aletta Smith, widow of Gideon van Dyk do hereby certify that the claims innumerated in this inventory are due by the said estate.
