MOOC8/47.10 {18310527} 27 May 1831 Isaac van der Merwe Venduroll wanted N:B: This estate is to be debited with 4 percent auction duty in the accordance of the venduroll, P:D:A: Inventory of all such property as has been relinquished by the death ab intestato of Isaac van der Merwe on the 20:th day of the month of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one for the benefit of his seven children procreated in lawful wedlock by his predeceased wife Elsje Johanna van Heerden, viz:t Thus inventoried at Graaff Reinet on the twenty seventh day of the month of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one according to a statement made by Nicolaas van der Merwe brother of the deceased who declared to have acted herein bonafide and that to the best of his knowledge he has not withheld or secreted any thing that belonged to the aforesaid estate and the said appearer further declared that he is and will at all times be ready and willing to confirm his statement by solemn oath if required promising at the same time that if after the date of these presents any property of this estate might be discovered he shall and will faithfully communicate it to the Agent of the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory with the property so discovered.
