MOOC8/46.93 {18290917} 17 September 1829 Johan Willem Böhmer , Hester Johanna van Zyl Inventory of the joint property of Johan Willem Böhmer and Hester Johanna van Zyl relinquished by the death of the firstmentioned on the thirteenth day of the month of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine. The deceased having by his last will and testament executed jointly with his aforesaid wife on the 22:d March 1802 before the Notary Publicq Johan Jacob Fredrik Wagener and witnesses appointed as his sole and universal heirs the survivor together with his natural daughter and has intailed with fidei commis the inheritance of the latter in such a manner and to such extent as has been described in the codicil executed in the presence of the notary publicq, Jacobus Petrus de Wet, on the 19 April 1827, and has further requested the Board of Orphan Masters to be and to act as executors and guardian over the minor heirs. In consequence whereof the undersigned commissioned Members of the Board aforesaid have taken the joint estate under proper inventory and found the same to consist in the following, viz:t The widow states that there is a running account between Messrs Dentzel and Philips of Amsterdam and the deceased, and that those gentlemen ought to be requested to forward an account in order to be compared with the books of the deceased, as also between some merchants in Cape Town the amount of which she can not exactly state. Thus inventoried at the house aforesaid at the Cape of Good Hope on the 17 and 18 Septemb: and 8, 12th and 13th October 1829 according to a statement made by the aforesaid wid: who declared to have acted herein bonafide, and that to the best of her knowledge she has not withheld or secreted anything that belonged to the aforesaid estate, and the said appearer further declared that she is and will at all times be ready and willing to confirm her statement by solemn oath if required, promising at the same time that if after the date of these presents any property of this estate might be discovered, shall faithfully communicate it to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory with the property so discovered.
