Thus inventoried at Veets Kraal in the fieldcornetcy of Zwagershoek , district of Somerset on the 26th day of August 1831 according to a statement made by Carel Stephanus Erasmus and Philippus Lodewicus Erasmus, who declared to have acted herein bona fide and that to the best of their knowledge and belief they have not withheld or secreted any property belonging to the aforesaid estate, and the said appearers further declare that they are and will be at all times ready and willing to confirm the same by solemn oath if required; promising at the same time that if after the date of these presents any property belonging to this estate may be discovered, he will faithfully communicate the same to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory with the property so discovered. It is stated by the widow that Stephanus Stroh residing in Zwagershoek is indebted to the estate 2 muids and a quarter of wheat which he borrowed from the deceased as per book kept by the deceased Hendrik, a Bastard Hottentot, residing at Vogel Rivier in this district18
