MOOC8/46.48 {18270813} 13 August 1827 Louis Christiaan Karsten , Sara Johanna Gobrechts Comparing with the books Inventory of all such property of Louis Christiaan Karsten and his wife Sara Johanna Gobrechts relinquished by the intestate death of the lastmentioned on the seventh day of the month of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six for the benefit of her aforesaid husband on the one, and her nine children procreated by her said husband in lawful wedlock, namely The aforesaid property having been taken under the administration of the Board of Orphan Masters of this Colony in behalf of the aforesaid heirs, and been inventoried by the undersigned was found to consist in the following, viz:t Thus inventoried at the Cape of Good Hope at the aforesaid place on the thirteenth day of the month August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven according to a statement made by the survivor who declared to have acted herein bonafide and that to the best of his knowledge he has not withheld or secreted any thing that belonged to the aforesaid estate, and the said appearer further declared that he is and will at all times be ready and willing to confirm his statement by solemn oath if required, promising at the same time that if after the date of these presents any property of this estate might be discovered shall and will faithfully communicate it to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory with the property so discovered.
