Hawkins
Inventory of all such property as has been relinquished by the intestato
death of Francis Hawkins Esq. Hon:ble East India Company’s civil service, on
the eighth day of the month of December in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and thirty one, for the benefit of his surviving widow Helen
Burrington on the one part, and his children procreated in wedlock with his
said wife, namely
The aforesaid property having been taken under the administration of the
Board of Orphan Masters of this Colony on behalf of the said heirs, and been
inventorised by the undersigned special Commissioners of the Board aforesaid
was found to consist in the following, viz:t
At his country residence called

Thus inventoried at the place aforesaid on the 12 of Decemb: 1831, Mr
Hawkins being unable to give an axact account of the property belonging to said
estate, but the same has been taken in his presence and that of Mr Fredrik
Nepean in that of the former as the brother and of the latter as the friend of
the deceased

Ampliation
According to the statement of Mr W: Hawkins the estate has to claim from
Mr Kekewich, rent of the dwelling house, belonging to Mr V:A: Schonnberg, sub
let by Mr Hawkins, from 15 Novemb: 1831 to 15 March 1832, at the rate of
rd:s2200 per annum - paid 16 April 1832
Supplementary inventory of the effects belonging to the estate of the late
Francis Hawkins of the hon:ble East India Company’s civil service, found
contained in three writing desks the property of the deceased, which were
removed to Cape Town, by the commission of the Board who proceeded to
Vineyard to seal up the effects of the
estate.
