MOOC8/46.20 {18281121} 21 November 1828 James Scofill Inventory of all such property as has been relinquished by the death ab intestato of James Scofill on the 17th day of the month of November in the year of our Lord 1828 for the benefit of his surviving widow Maria Johanna Botha on the one, and his only minor daughter named Anna Maria Susanna Scofill born on the 2:nd May 1822 on the other part. At the place of Mr Robert Hart called Glen Avon situated at the fieldcornetcy of Bruyntjes Hoogte , district of Somerset where the deceased lived for a short time before his death According to a statement made by the widow, the deceased has some cattle sheep and goats at Christoffel Korffs at Buffels Hoek , but cannot say what number Thus inventoried at the aforesaid place on the 21 day of November in the year 1828 according to a statement made by the widow and Mr Hart who declared to have acted herein bonafide and that to the best of their knowledge they have not withheld or secreted any thing that belonged to the aforesaid estate, and the said appearers further declared that they are and will at all times be ready and willing to confirm their statement by solemn oath if required, promising at the same time that if after the date of these presents any property of this estate might be discovered, shall and will faithfully communicate it to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory with the property so discovered Witnesses: Rob:t Brady, John Croft Mark + of Maria Johanna Botha, widow Scofille, John Hart In my presence: C:L: Auret We, the undersigned do hereby make oath that the property belonging to the aforesaid estate has been valued by us to the best of our knowledge and ability Sworn before me this 21 day of November 1828: Rob:t Hart, J:C: Rob:t Brady, John Croft Somerset , 30:th November C:L: Auret
