MOOC8/45.86 {18300217} 17 February 1830 Hendrik Daniel van Dyk Exh:d the 24:th February 1830, n:o 22 Inventory of all such property as has been relinquished by the intestate death of Hendrik Daniel van Dyk on the 29:th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty at the place called Paardeberg district of Caledon for the benefit of his under mentioned children procreated in wedlock with his predeceased wife Anna Groenewald, namely the aforesaid property having been taken under the administration of the Board of Orphan Masters of this Colony in behalf of the said heirs, and been inventoried by the undersigned Commissioners of the Board aforesaid was found to consist in the following, viz:t Thus inventoried at the Cape of Good Hope on the 17:th February 1830 according to a statement made by Jacobus Johannes van Dyk, who declared to have acted herein bonafide, and that to the best of his knowledge he has not withheld or secreted any thing that belonged to the aforesaid estate and the said appearer further declared that he is, and will at all times be ready and willing to confirm his statement by solemn oath if required, promising at the same time, that if after the date of these presents any property might be discovered shall faithfully communicate it to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory with the property so discovered. In witness whereof we the Commissioners with the appearer and me the Secretary have subscribed to these presents As Commissioners: [ ..... ] J:J: van Dijk In my presence: J:J:L: Smuts Ampliation Jacobus Johannes van Dyk further states that the following slaves stand still on the name of the deceased /:and attached/ Spasje Cape of Good Hope date as aforesaid. J:J: van Dijk Certificeere ik ondergeteekende als bekend zynde met de kinderen en erfgenamen van nu wylen Hendrik Daniel van Dyk, en zoo als zulks ook nog geblykt uit eene door wylen gemelde van Dyk op den 17 November 1815 voor den toenmaligen Notaris de heer P:C: van Blommesteijn gepasseerde acte van kinderwys, dat de hieronder te noemenen, zyn de kinderen en erfgenamen van wylen gemelde van Dyk, als Kaapstad den 8 Augustus 1831 D:J: Aspeling s:r
