MOOC8/44.72 {18290312} 12 March 1829 Johan David Warneck Abichael Catharina de Wit Correct with the books of the Slave Office, N: 9 Most of claims in favor of the estate for calling in the capitals in the hands of T:B: v: Willigen 18 Aug:t 1829 Inventory of the property of Abichael Catharina de Wit and her predeceased husband Johan David Warneck relinquished by the death of the first mentioned on the fifth day of the month of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine. The deceased having by her last will and testament executed with her predeceased husband on the 2 day of the month of June 1818 before the Notary Public Mr Jacobus Petrus de Wet and certain witnesses and codicil executed by the deceased on the 5:th February 1824 before the Notary Public Willem Adriaan Wentzel and certain witnesses after having bequeathed several legacies appointed as her sole and universal heir Thomas Marthinus Schoester /whose inheritances is entailed with fidei commis: in same will and has further requested and appointed the Board of Orphan Masters to be and to act as executors. In consequence whereof the undersigned commissioned Member of the Orphan Board have taken the joint estate under proper inventory and found the same to consist in the following, viz:t At the house of Mrs the wid: Adriaan Smuts, the late residence of the deceased Thus done and inventoried at the house aforesaid at the Cape of Good Hope on the 9:th March 1829 according to a statement made by Thomas Marth:s Schoester, Simon P:s Wolhuter and the wid: A: Phaup who declared to have acted herein bonafide and that to the best of their knowledge they have not withheld of secreted any thing that belonged to the aforesaid estate and the said appearers further declared that they are and will at all times be ready and willing to confirm their statement by solemn oath if required, promising at the same time that if after the date of these presents any property of this estate might be discovered shall and will faithfully communicate it to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory with the property so discovered. In witness whereof I, the Commissioner, together with the appearers and the Secretary have subscribed to these presents.
