In order to search GenDatabase.com, you will need the correct, exact full names and surname of the individual you are searching for, since we verify records against official sources for accuracy purposes.
In the event you do not have the exact names or surname, we do offer users the opportunity to make use of a Wildcard Search Function, which will allow you to search partial names or surname.
The Wildcard Search
In order to make use of our Wildcard Search function, you can simply make use of the percentage (%) sign when conducting a search.
As an example, you are looking for a Beatrice Smith, but are not sure what her middle names are. In this case, you can enter her name, in the Name field as follow:

(This will bring up all records where the names start with Beatrice.)

Inventory of all such property as have been relinquished by the death ab
intestato of Robert Bell on the twenty fifth day of the month of November in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six for the benefit
of his surviving widow Sarah Williams. The aforesaid property having been
inventoried by the undersigned commissioned members from the Board of Orphan
Masters according to a statement made by the aforesaid widow and was found to
consist in the following, viz:t
Thus inventoried at the Cape of Good Hope in the house aforesaid on the
second day of the month of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and twenty six according to a statement made by the aforesaid widow who
declared to have acted herein bonafide and that to the best of her knowledge
she has not withheld or secreted any thing that belonged to the aforesaid
estate, and the said appearer further declared that she is and will at all
times be ready and willing to confirm her statement by solemn oath if required,
promising at the same time that if after the date if these presents any
property of this estate might be discovered shall and will faithfully
communicate it to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory with
the property so discovered.
In witness whereof we, the Commissioners, together with the appearer and
the Secretary have subscribed to these presents.
