In order to search GenDatabase.com, you will need the correct, exact full names and surname of the individual you are searching for, since we verify records against official sources for accuracy purposes.
In the event you do not have the exact names or surname, we do offer users the opportunity to make use of a Wildcard Search Function, which will allow you to search partial names or surname.
The Wildcard Search
In order to make use of our Wildcard Search function, you can simply make use of the percentage (%) sign when conducting a search.
As an example, you are looking for a Beatrice Smith, but are not sure what her middle names are. In this case, you can enter her name, in the Name field as follow:

(This will bring up all records where the names start with Beatrice.)

Inventory of all such property as has been relinquished by the intestate
death of Michael Cohen, born in Dublin, on the sixteenth day of the month of
May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty for the
benefit of his unknown foreign heirs.
The aforesaid property having been taken under the administration of the
Board of Orphan Masters of this Colony in behalf of the same unknown foreign
heirs and been inventoried by the undersigned special commissioners of the
Board aforesaid was found to consist in the following, viz:t
In a house occupied by Mr Taytasac N: 35 Roose Street
Thus done and inventoried at the house aforesaid at the Cape of Good Hope
on the 21 day of May 1830 according to a statement made by Mr Joseph Taytasac
who declared to have acted herein bonafide and that to the best of his
knowledge he has not withheld or secreted any thing that belonged to the
aforesaid estate; and the said appearer further declared that he is and will at
all times be ready and willing to confirm his statement by solemn oath if
required, promising at the same time that if after the date of these presents
any property of this estate might be discovered will faithfully communicate it
to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory with the property so
discovered.
In witness whereof I the Commissioner, together with the appearer and me,
the Secretary, have subscribed to these presents.
