MOOC8/44.15 {18280228} 28 February 1828 Stephan Smith Exhib: 12 March 1828 n: 19 Inventory of all such property as have been relinquished by the death ab intestato of Stephan Smith on the 23:d day of the month of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight for the benefit of his unknown heirs. The aforesaid property having been taken under the administration of the Board of Orphan Masters of this Colony in behalf of his unknown heirs and been inventoried by the undersigned was found to consist in the following, viz: At the house of the widow Steidler The deceased house keeper state that the cash which was in the estate has been used by her for three months house rent up to the 29 instant being r:105 and for paying a note due a the 24 inst: a favor of claims to the amount of rd:s170 Thus inventoried at the Cape of Good Hope in the house aforesaid o the 28 Feb:y 1828 according to a statement made by Sara Elizabeth Smith, this house keeper, who declared to have acted herein bonafide and that to the best of her knowledge she has not withheld or secreted any thing that belonged to the aforesaid estate and the said appearer further declared that she is and will at all times be ready and willing to confirm her statement by solemn oath if required, promising at the same time that if after the date of these presents any property of the estate might be discovered shall and will faithfully communicate it to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory with the property so discovered.
