MOOC8/43.9 {18251014} 14 October 1825 Johan Wilhelm Ludwig Gebhardt Inventory of the property of the Rev:d Johan Wilhelm Ludwig Gebhart born in Manheim, relinquished by his death on the 12th day of the month of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five at 6 o clock in the morning The deceased having by his last will and testament executed on the 26th September 1825 before the notary Reynier Beck and witnesses, appointed (after having bequeathed several legacies) his sole and universal heir his son Henry Gebhart, part of which inheritance amounting to forty thousand guilders is entailed with Fidei Commis and which Fidei Commis is subject to the conditions expressed in said will. And having further requested and appointed in the aforesaid will the worshipful board of Orphan Masters of this Colony, to be his executors and guardian of the said minor heir. In consequence of which the aforesaid property (after the seals of office has been removed) was duly inventoried by the undersigned Special Commissioners from the Orphan Board and was found to consist in the following Thus inventoried at the Cape of Good Hope on the 14th October 1825 according to a statement made by the son of the deceased Mr Henry Gebhardt who declared to have acted herein bonafide and that to the best of his knowledge has not withheld or secreted anything that belonged to the aforesaid estate, and that he is and will at all times be ready and willing to confirm his statement by solemn oath if required, promising that if after the date of these presents any property might be discovered he shall faithfully communicate it to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory with the property so discovered In witness whereof we the Commissioners together with the Secretary and appearer have subscribed to these presents As Commissioners: G:E: Overbeek, J:P: Munnik Hendrik Gebhart In my presence: J:J:L: Smuts
