In the event you do not have the exact names or surname, we do offer users the opportunity to make use of a Wildcard Search Function, which will allow you to search partial names or surname.
The Wildcard Search
In order to make use of our Wildcard Search function, you can simply make use of the percentage (%) sign when conducting a search.
As an example, you are looking for a Beatrice Smith, but are not sure what her middle names are. In this case, you can enter her name, in the Name field as follow:

(This will bring up all records where the names start with Beatrice.)

Inventory of all such property as have been relinquished by the death ab
intestato of Pieter Diemel on the 12 December in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and twenty seven for the benefit of his unknown foreign
heirs
The aforesaid property having been taken under the administration of the
Board of Orphan Masters at the Cape of Good Hope in behalf of his unknown
foreign heirs and been inventoried by the undersigned Commissioner, was found
to consist in the following
At the house of M:r Josh Alb:s van Breda
Thus inventorised at the Cape of Good Hope in the house aforesaid on the
5th day of the month of February 1828 according to a statement made by M:r
Breda who declared to have acted herein bonafide and that to the best of his
knowledge he has not withheld or secreted anything that belonged to the
aforesaid estate, and the said appearer further declared that he is and will at
all times be ready and willing to confirm his statement by solemn oath if
required, promising at this auction that if after the date of these presents
any property of this estate might be discovered, shall and will faithfully
communicate it to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory with
this property so discovered
