MOOC8/43.46 {18260829} 29 August 1826 Martha Cornelia van der Riet Inventory of the property of Mrs Martha Cornelia van der Riet widow of the late Willem Stephanus van Ryneveld Esq:re relinquished by her death on the 25th day of the month of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six at one o’clock in the morning. The deceased having by her last will and testament executed on the 6 February 1815 before the late notary Mr Gerrit Buyskes and witnesses (after having bequeathed several legacies, and made several other disposition, which partly had been duly executed, previous to her demise, in compliance with the directions of the worshipful the Court of Justice dated 14th August 1823 and in conformity to the decision of the Board dated 27 of the same month) appointed her sole and universal heirs her children, namely and moreover requested and appointed the worshipful Board of Orphan Masters of this Colony to be and to act as her executors In consequence of which the aforesaid property was duly inventoried by the undersigned special Commissioners from the Orphan Board, and was found to consist in the following viz:t It is hereby further noticed that it appears according to an inventory dated 24 January 1817, executed by the deceased that there are still unsettled accounts between the heirs of the late Benjamin Seydlerand the late W:S: van Ryneveld, more fully explained in the said inventory Thus inventoried at the Cape of Good Hope on the 29th August 1826 according to a statement made by Messrs Daniel Joh:s van Ryneveld, Willem Corn:s van Ryneveld, Help:s Ritzema van Ryneveld and Jacobus Joh:s Gysb:s van Reede van Oudtshoorn who declared to have acted herein bonafide and that to the best of their knowledge they have not withheld or secretated anything that belonged to the aforesaid estate, and the said appearers further declared that they are and will at all times be ready to confirm their statement by solem oath if required, promising at the same time that if after the date of these presents, any property of the estate might be discovered shall faithfully communicate it to the Orphan Chamber in order to implify this inventory with property so discovered In witness whereof we the undersigned Commissioners together with the appearers and me the Secretary have subscribed to these presents As Commissioners: G:E: Overbeek, D: Kuys D:J: v: Ryneveld, W:C: van Ryneveld, H:R: v: Ryneveld, J: v: Reede van Oudtshoorn In my presence: J:J:L: Smuts
