MOOC8/43.36c {18260321} 21 March 1826 John Digby Inventory of some property of John Digby Esq:re relinquished by his death ab intestato on the 19th day of the month of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six The said property have been found under the care of Mr John Robert Thompson and was duly inventoried by the undersigned special Commissioners from the Orphan Board, and consist in the following Memorandum: It is hereby noticed that, according to a statement of the Moor servant of the deceased named Ramsam , one case containing glass ware is missing which was brought to Mr J:R: Thompson’s store, the said Mr Thomson promised that when the same shall be found to deliver it up to the Orphan Chamber Thus inventoried at the Cape of Good Hope on the 21st March 1826 according to a statement made by the aforesaid Mr J:R: Thomson, who declared to have acted herein bonafide and that to the best of his knowledge he has not withheld or secreted anything that belonged to the aforesaid estate, and that he is and will at all times be ready and willing to confirm his statement by solemn oath if required, promising that if after the date of these presents any property might be discovered he shall faithfully communicate it to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory with the property so discovered In witness whereof we the Commissioners together, with the Secretary and appearer have subscribed to these presents As Commissioners: G:E: Overbeek, J:F: Munnik J:R: Thomson In my presence: J:J:L: Smuts
