MOOC8/43.30 {18261103} 3 November 1826 Christina Smith Inventory of the property of Christina Smith widow of Abner Savens Faerbanks relinquished by her death on the first day of the month of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six The deceased having by her last will and testament executed on the 15th November 1821 before the notary Rynier Beck and witnesses appointed /:after having bequeathed several legacies:/ as her sole and universal heir her daughter Martinetta Eliza Faerbanks And having further requested and appointed in a codicil annexed to the said will, the worshipful Board of Orphan Masters of this Colony to be her executors and guardians of the said minor heir In consequence of which the aforesaid property /:after the seals of office had been removed:/ was duly inventoried by the undersigned special Commissioners from the Orphan Board and found to consist in the following, viz:t Thus inventoried at the Cape of Good Hope in the house aforesaid on the third day of the month of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six according to a statement made by the widow Schouw born Smith who declared to have acted herein bonafide and to the best of her knowledge nothing further belonging to the estate has been concealed or secreted, by her further promissing that should any articles after the date of these presents be discovered that she will faithfully state the same to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory, therewith declaring to be ready and willing to confirm the correctness of her statement if required by solemn oath In witness whereof I the Commissioner together with the Secretary of the Orphan Board and the appearer have subscribed hereto As Commissioner: J:F: Munnik Weduwe Schouw In my presence: J:J:L: Smuts
