In order to search GenDatabase.com, you will need the correct, exact full names and surname of the individual you are searching for, since we verify records against official sources for accuracy purposes.
In the event you do not have the exact names or surname, we do offer users the opportunity to make use of a Wildcard Search Function, which will allow you to search partial names or surname.
The Wildcard Search
In order to make use of our Wildcard Search function, you can simply make use of the percentage (%) sign when conducting a search.
As an example, you are looking for a Beatrice Smith, but are not sure what her middle names are. In this case, you can enter her name, in the Name field as follow:

(This will bring up all records where the names start with Beatrice.)

(This will bring up all records where Beatrice appear anywhere in the names.)

Hudson
Inventory of all such property as has been relinquished by the death ab
intestato of Samuel Gusibeus Hudson on the second day of the month of September
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight for the
benefit of his daughter Mary Ann Hudson.
The aforesaid property having been taken under the administration of the
Board of Orphan Masters of this Colony in behalf of his said daughter, and been
inventoried by the undersigned special Commissioners of the Board aforesaid was
found to consist in the following, viz:
Thus inventoried in Cape Town on the 4th day of the month of Septemb: 1828
according to a statement made by Mr Michiel Sala, and in the presence of Mr
C:H: Grisbrook a nephew of the deceased, who declared to have acted herein
bonafide and that to the best of his knowledge he has not withheld or secreted
any thing, that belonging to the aforesaid estate, and the said appearer
further declared that he is and will at all times be ready and willing to
confirm his statement with solemn oath if required, promising at the same time
that if after the date of these presents any property of this estate might be
discovered shall faithfully communicate it to the Orphan Chamber in order to
amplify this inventory with the property so discovered
In witness whereof we the Commissioners together with the appearer and me
the Secretary have subscribed to these presents.
