MOOC8/43.17 {18280701} 1 July 1828 Johanna Christina Dreyer Inventory of all such property as has been relinquished by the death ab intestato of Johanna Christina Dreyer on the twenty seventh day of the month of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight The testatrix having by her last will and testament executed on the 8th of December 1826 before the notary public m:r Jacobus Petrus de Wet and witnesses, after having made a legacy and several dispositions respecting slaves, appointed as her sole and universal heirs the following, viz: and has further requested and appointed the Board of Orphan Masters to be and to act as executors and guardian over her minor heirs of said will, in consequence whereof the undersigned commissioned Members of the Orphan Board have taken the estate under proper inventory and found the same to consist in the following, viz: Thus done and inventoried in Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope on the 1st July 1828 according to a statement made by Christiaan Hendrik Nyhoff Hendrik Barends and Rachel Johanna Ovenhuyzen, who declared to have acted herein bona fide and that to the best of their knowledge they have not withheld or secreted anything that belonged to the aforesaid estate. And the appearers further declared that they are and will at all times be ready if required to confirm this their statement with solemn oath, promising at the same time, that if after the date of these presents any property belonging to the aforesaid estate might be discovered, will faithfully communicate it to the Orphan’s Chamber in order to amplify this inventory with the property so discovered In witness whereof we the Commissioners together with the appearers, and me the Secretary have subscribed to these presents As Commissioner: P: Blankenberg C:H: Nyhoff, Rachel Ovinhuiz In my presence: J:J:L: Smuts Rachel Ovinhuyzen
