MOOC8/43.12 {18280721} 21 July 1828 Adam Gabriel de Smidt Inventory of all such property as has been relinquished by the death of Adam Gabriel de Smidt on the eighteenth day of the month of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight for the benefit of his surviving widow Helena Elizabeth Stadler on the one The testators having by a codicil dated 29 March 1828 and annexed to their last will and testament executed on the 11th June 1824 before the notary public Willem Adriaan Wentzel and certain witnesses requested and appointed the Board of Orphan Masters to be and to act as executors and guardians over the minor heirs, in consequence where of the undersigned commissioned Members of the Orphan Board have taken the joint estate under proper inventory and found the same to consists in the following, viz: Thus inventoried in Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope, on the 21 day of July 1828 according to a statement made by the widow who declared to have acted herein bonafide and that to the best of her knowledge she has not withheld or secreted any thing that belonged to the aforesaid estate, and the said appearer further declared that she is and will at all times be ready and willing to confirm her statement by solemn oath if aquired, promising at the same time, that if after the date of these presents any property of this estate might be discovered shall faithfully communicate it to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory with the property so discovered In witness whereof we the Commissioners together with the appearer and me the Secretary have subscribed to these presents As Commissioners: J:s Brand, J: Blanckenberg H:E: Stadler, de weduwe A:G: de Smidt In my presence: J:J:L: Smuts
