MOOC8/42.26 {18270507} 7 May 1827 Gysbertus van Reenen , Maria Johanna Smalbergen Inventory of all such property of Gysbertus van Reenen and Maria Johanna Smalbergen relinquished by the death of the firstmentioned on the fourteenth day of the month of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven. The deceased having by his last will and testament executed jointly with his aforesaid wife on the 27th January 1780 before the then chief clerk in the Colonial Secretary's Office Mr George Fredrik Goets and witnesses appointed his aforesaid wife as his sole and universal heiress together with the children procreated in this wedlock, namely The deceased has further by a codicil dated 29 March 1827 requested and appointed the Board of Orphan Masters to be and to act as executors of the said will and guardians over his abovementioned minor children, in consequence whereof the undersigned commissioned Members of the Orphan Board have taken the estate under proper inventory and found the same to consist in the following viz:t On the aforesaid place Brakke Fontein It is hereby stated that there are some stukvats, leaguers and other casks with wine at Ronde Bosche with Mr Sybrand Mostert Cornelis son the number of which cannot be ascertained here - twenty one stukvats /:four with wine:/, a wine cask and a fermenting tub. Thus inventoried at the Cape of Good Hope at the place aforesaid on the seventh day of the month of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven according to a statement made by the surviving widow and Rogier Joan Oliviera in the presence of Marthinus Melk and Johan George Muller and Dirk Gysbertus van Reenen G:s son and did the two firstmentioned declare to have acted herein bonafide and that to the best of their knowledge they have not withheld or secreted any thing that belonged to the aforesaid estate, and the said appearers further declared that they are and will at all times be ready and willing to confirm their statement with solemn oath if required, promising at the same time that if after the date of these presents any property of this estate might be discovered shall faithfully communicate it to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory therewith.
