Inventory of the joint property of Jonathan Joseph Burnard and his wife
Francina Dorothea Flamme, relinquished by the death of the firstmentioned on
the fourteenth day of the month of August in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and twenty five at 5 o' clock in the afternoon.
The deceased having by his last will and testament executed on the 14:t
April 1824 before the notary public George Cadogan and certain witnesses
nominated as his sole heir his son named Joseph Fredrik Fry Burnard born on the
30:t January on condition that his aforesaid wife during her lifetime shall
enjoy the benefit of the interest, which will accrue on the said inheritance,
more fully explained in said will
The Board in consequence of a decision of the Court of Justice dated 25:t
instant - having taken the said estate under their administration and the
property was duly inventoried by the undersigned special Commissioners from the
said Board, and was found to consist in the following viz:t
In the house of Mr John Murray occupied on rent by the deceased
The widow states that there is expected from the enterior two flocks of
sheep and a drove of bullocks, out of which Mr Adriaan Ch:n Deneys must be
refunded four thousand sheep, which the deceased has borrowed of him.
Thus inventoried at the Cape of Good Hope on the 29th August 1825 in the
house aforesaid, according to a statement made by the surviving widow and
Fredrik Wilhelm Flamme who declared to have acted herein bonafide and that to
the best of their knowledge they have not withheld or secreted any thing that
belonged to the aforesaid estate, and that they are and will at all times be
ready and willing to confirm their statement by solemn oath if required
promising at the same time, that if after the date of these presents any
property might be discovered belonging to the said estate, they shall
faithfully communicate it to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this
inventory with the property so discovered.
In witness whereof we the Commissioners together with the appearers and
the Secretary have subscribed to these presents.

Jansz: dewelke verklaarde zig in zijne gedane opgave naar gemoede en volgens
het best van zijn weten te hebben gedraagen en niets te hebben agtergehouden
met belofte indien er iets naders in der tijd mogte worden ontdekt, dat tot den
boedel behoort en hierin niet is opgetekend dezer inventaris alsdann daarmeede
te zullen amplieren - alles onder aanbod van eede.
