A true and perfect inventory of all and every the goods, chattles, wares,
and merchandize as well moveables as not, debts, credits and other personal
effects of the deceased Hendrick Gerhardus van der Merwe Barend Jacobus son and
his late wife Johanna Cornelia Smit Christoffel Johannes daughter found in the
district of
Beaufort and who died intestate,
the former died on the 17:th July 1825 between the hours of 5 and 6 a:m: at the
place
Klip Kraal and the latter on the 24:th
July 1825 between the hours of 1 and 2 a:m: at the above place in the field
cornetship of Gerhardus Petrus Marais, district of
Beaufort and given up as follows, viz:
This done and registered on Monday 19:th Sep:r 1825 at the farm
Bronkorst Valei according to the statement of
Christoffel Johannes Smit Williams son who declares in his above statement of
this estate having been done honestly and truly and that nothing has been held
back to the best of his knowledge and that he further declares always to be
ready if called upon to solomnize the same by oath. Further promises in the
event of anything further coming to his recollection or knowledge to bind
himself to add the same to this inventory.
This done by me the undersigned deputy Landdrost in presence of W: Bower
and H:J: Luttig as witnesses.
