In the presence of all the members, except Lieutenant Adriaan van Rheede.
As the Honourable Governor and this E.A. Council, by their Honourable Great Esteem, the Lords of the Deputy Directors, had ordered the dispatch of the Drum boat to Ceylon and Malacca as soon as possible, to inform the Honourable Governors of the respective Governments of the necessary plans that the French intend to undertake, in the opinion of their Honourable Great Esteem, at one of the aforementioned locations (under the direction of Monsignor Dandesne): But as the aforementioned boat also... passado after Madagascar until the slave trade had been ordered and no qualified vessel was at hand as the galley 't Hoen: Soo is at the Wel Ede. Lord Governor and Deesen E. Achtb. Please advise. the wrecked galleon is resolved as soon as possible and finally melts under the commander-in-chief, Jeronimus Jochemsz Slop, assisted. with thirty heads, to be sent there.78
Thus arrested and confined in the Casteel de Goede Hoop on the date as above.

Groot Achtb. de Heeren Gecommitteerde Bewinthebberen was g’ordonneert het jachje de Tamboer nae Ceijlon en Malacca op ‘t spoedighste aff te vaardigen77 omme aan de Ede. Heeren Gouverneurs der respedtive geseijde Gouvernementen de nodige kennisse te geven, wegens de desseijnen die de Fransoisen voornemens sijn nae het gevoelen van wel gemlte. haer Ede. Groot Agtb. op eene der voors. plaatsen (onder ‘t beleijd van monsr. Dandesne) te ondernemen: Maar alsoo het voors. jachje ao. passado na Madagascar tot den slavenhandel was affgesonden en geen bequamer vaertuijgh bij de hand was als het galjoot ‘t Hoen : Soo is bij de Wel Ede. Heer Gouverneur en deesen E. Achtb. Raade voornt. geresolveert het geseijde galjoot op het spoedighste ten fine vermelt onder den commanderent opperstierman, Jeronimus Jochemsz Slop, geassist. met dertich koppen, derwaert te versenden.78
Aldus gearresteert en besloten in ‘t Casteel de Goede Hoop op dato als boven.
