Some statements in the charge of Gerrit de Haan, butler on the ship Moercapel, moored here, were obtained officially from the fiscal officer, Mr. Cornelis Jansz Simons, and read at the meeting. After due deliberation, it has been unanimously decided that said de Haan will be suspended from duty and wages for the next two months due to neglect of duty, and will pay the costs in this case.
Jacob Jorisz de Neve, chief mate in the service of the E.Comp. on the aforementioned ship Moercapel, after the death of its skipper, Barend Andriesz Langeveen,38 appointed by broad ship's council as skipper in the deceased's stead with a monthly salary of ƒ80, who, after the death of his skipper, had not taken proper care of the ship and its goods, so that the bottom landed here in a very poor and sloppy state, moreover, considering the bad and dangerous consequences, Jacob Jorisz de Neve, along with the second mate and third watch, decided to allow them to continue their service on said bottom, as they were prepared to sail here as well as on land, against Hendrik Roos, its skipper by the Honorable Hr. Governor and this Honorable Achtb. Advice given to her, disobediently, irreverently, and resentfully: It was unanimously decided, to prevent all misfortune and further estrangement, to have the chief and second mate of the ship Moercapel transferred in their respective capacities to the present ship Iselmonde, and to fill their places again with the second and first mate of Iselmonde; Dirk van der Noen,39 third watch on the Moercapel on the war yacht Swarte Leeuw anchored here, will perform his duties, and in his place, Jacob Vredenburg, third watch of the yacht Tamboer, moored here, will transfer to the Moercapel.40
Thus arrested and decreed in the Castle of Good Hope at the date and year as above.

Cornelis Jansz Simons nomine officij ingewonnen, en ter vergadering gelesen, So is na rijpe raadspleging eenparig verstaan dat geseide de Haan wegens pligtversuijm voor den tijd der twe naadstvolgende maanden van qualitait en gagie sal gesuspendeerd zijn, betalende de kosten in desen gevallen.
Jacob Jorisz de Neve, opperstuurman in dienst der E.Comp. op voors. schip Moercapel bescheiden, na ‘t overlijden van desselvs schipper, Barend Andriesz Langeveen,38 bij breden scheepsrade tot schipper in des overledens plaats met een maandelijxe besolding van ƒ80 angesteld, dewelke na ‘t overlijden van syn schipper opgem. geen behoorlijke sorge voor schip en goederen gedragen hebbende, sulx dat die bodem in seer slegten en slordigen staat hier anlandde, daar en boven overwogen zijnde van hoe kwaden en gevaarlijken gevolge ‘t soude wesen geseiden Jacob Jorisz de Neve, mitsgs. den onderstuurman en derde waak op geseide bodem te laten in hun dienst continueren, dewijl sij bereids so hier ter rhede als an land haar tegens Hendrik Roos, haren schipper bij den Ed. Hr. Gouverneur en desen E.Achtb. Rade haar gegeven, ongehoorsam, oneerbiedig en wrevelmoedig gedragen hebben: So is eenpariger stemme verstaan om alle onheilen en verdere verwijdering voor te komen, den opper en onderstuurman van ‘t schip Moercapel in hun qualitaiten op ‘t anwesende schip Iselmonde te doen overgaan, en hun plaatsen wederom met d’ onder en opperstuurman van Iselmonde te vervullen; sullende Dirk van der Noen,39 derde waak op de Moercapel op ‘t hier geankerde oorlogs-jagt, Swarte Leeuw , sijn dienst praesteren en in desselvs plaats op de Moercapel overgaan Jacob Vredenburg, derde-waak van ‘t hier ter rhede leggende jagt Tamboer .40
