In the presence of all the members, the Hon. Jan Bernh. de Rhue, Gerrit Klink, and Jan Six, chief merchants, were also present.
It being proposed to the meeting by the Hon. Lord Governor, whether it would be advisable to deliver the sealed letter from its Hon. Hon. Achtb., commissioner and plenipotentiary for secret affairs, addressed to the Commander of the expected return fleet from India this current year, to E.J.B. de Rhue, flag captain of the three Ceylon return ships present, noting the prolonged stay of the Batavian ships, the passing of the season, and the approach of winter. Therefore, after due consultation, it is unanimously in the best interests of the Hon. Comp. Decided and approved to postpone this deliberation until the 15th of this month, in order to resume it again at that time without loss of time.
Thus arrested and confined in the Castle of Good Hope on the date and year as mentioned above.

Bij den Ed. Heer Gouverneur15 ter vergadering voor gedragen zijnde, of ‘t niet geraden was den gesloten briev van haar Ed.Ho.Achtb. gecommitteerde en gevolmagtigde tot de Secrete sâken, gerigt an den Commandeur van de verwagte retourvloot uijt India in desen lopenden jaare, over te geven in handen van den E.J.B.de Rhue, vlag-voerder der drie anwesende Ceijlonse retour-schepen, gemerkt het langwijlig vertoeven der Bataviase schepen, ‘t verlôpen van ‘t jaargetij, en dat de winter voorhanden is; So is na rijpe raadspleging eenpariger stemme ten meesten dienste van d’ E.Comp. besloten en goedgevonden dese deliberatie tot den 15 deser maand uijt te stellen, om deselve alsdan sonder tijdverlies op nieuws te hervatten.
Aldus geärresteerd en besloten in ‘t Casteel de Goede Hoop ten dage en jaare als voorn.
