In the presence of all the members, the Hon. Messrs. Jan Parve, Admiral; Abraham Post, Vice Admiral; Anth. de Vogel, Chief Merchant and Rear Admiral; along with the other skippers of the fleet present.
The Batavian return ships of the last dispatch, Princeland, Borssenburg, Hoogergeest, and Nieuwland, having landed here during the night between the 30th and 31st of this month, were informed by the Hon. Commander in Chief, in consultation and deliberation, of what, in the circumstances of the matter, is largely in the interest of the Hon. should have been done or omitted, noting that the fleet of the first dispatch, under the flag of the Reverend Jan Parve, Admiral, and other representatives, has lain here for a considerable time and has been waiting for an offshore wind, taking into account, in addition, how far the season has passed, and the dangers that such a valuable fleet faces so late in the year on the usual route around the North of Scotland, especially in these perilous times of war, and that the most recently arrived Batavian return ships cannot be made ready on the spur of the moment, nor that they can be supplied with all necessities so quickly that by waiting after that, the Reverend Company would not be significantly disadvantaged. And noting that the skippers of the aforementioned Batavian naval vessels require at least eleven or twelve days' time to prepare their ships for another sea voyage, and given the uncertainty as to whether an offshore wind will blow shortly after the said eleven or twelve days, and the low likelihood of such a wind due to the spring tides then present, it has been unanimously decided, largely in the interest of the European Company, that the merging fleet, under the flag of the Hon. Hr. Jan Parve and other commanders, currently sailing, will set sail at the first opportunity of a suitable wind, without the slightest delay, and that the aforementioned four naval vessels will not wait in, noting that their captain, Skipper Paulus Hontum, will be commanded by the aforementioned Hon. Hr. Admiral Jan Parve. a written, paid-up sail order be provided to open it in broad council upon entering the sea, and then to direct it accordingly.99
Thus arrested and confined in the Castle of Good Hope on the date and year as above.

De Bataviase retourschepen der laatste besending, Princeland , Borssenburg , Hoogergeest en Nieuwland , ‘s nagts tusschen den 30 en 31 deser maand hier angeland zijnde, So is bij den Ed. Heer Commandeur in loco, ter vergadering in overleg en beraad gegeeven, wat in desen toestant van saaken ten meesten dienste van d’ E.Comp. behoord gedaan of gelaaten te werden, gemerkt de vloot der eerste besending onder de vlag van den E. Heer Jan Parve, Admiral en verdere gesaghebbers, een geruijmen tijd hier gelegen en na een aflandigen wind gewagt heeft, daar en boven in bedenking genomen hoe verre ‘t jaargetij verstreken is, en de gevaaren die sulk een kostelijke vloot so laat in ‘t jaar bij den ordinarie en gewoonlijken weg om de Noord van Schotland en voornamelijk in dese hachelijke tijden van oorlog te loopen heeft en dat de jongst hier angekomene Bataviase retourschepen voorn. op een sprong niet klaar te maaken zijn, nog dat-se van alle behoevtigheden so spoedig konnen versien worden, dat door ‘t wagten na dien d’ E.Comp. niet merkelijk soude vernadeeld worden. En gemerkt de schippers der voors. Bataviase naschepen ten minsten elf of twaalf dagen tijds eijsschen om haar schepen bekwaam te maaken om wederom zee te konnen kiesen, daar en boven onseker zynde of kort na verloop der geseide elf of twaalf dagen een aflandige wind om uijt te loopen staat te waijen, en weinig apparentie daar toe zijnde wegens ‘t springtij dat alsdan voorhanden is, Soo is eenpariger stemme ten meesten dienste van d’ E.Comp. verstaan en besloten, dat de meergem. vloot onder de vlag van den E.Hr. Jan Parve en verdere gesaghebbers, thans seilrhee leggende, ter eerster gelegentheid van een bekwaame wind, sonder enigen den minsten uytstel sal onder seil gaan, en de meergemelde vier naschepen niet inwagten, sullende an den vlagvoerder van dien, schipper Paulus Hontum, by den E.Hr. Admirl. Jan Parve voorn. een schrivtelijke versegelde seilas ordre ter hand gesteld worden om deselve, in zee gekomen zijnde, in breeden Raade t’ openen en sig vervolgens daar na te rigten.99
Aldus geärresteerd en besloten in ‘t Casteel de Goede Hoop ten dage en jaare als boven.
