English translation
The Honourable Lord Commander, having informed the meeting how the skippers and other commanders of the present return ships had informed him of the shortages their respective ships suffered from in tar, pitch, hawsers, canvas, ropes, and so on, requesting that they be relieved and assisted as soon as possible. Furthermore, his Honour had also reported the urgent need in which the Company's ship, the Berg China, was currently anchored for similar needs in the western harbor of the island of Mauritius: Therefore, after due consultation, it is in the best interests of the Honourable Company. It is understood and approved to have the requested goods delivered to the aforementioned ships from our warehouses as far as they can reach, and if it is too late, the aforementioned goods will be released from the present Dutch ships and the country's cargo.
Thus arrested and ordered to be held in the Castle of Good Hope on the date and year as above.
