In the presence of all members.
Considering the summary of the Council, the order of Our Lord and Master, contained in its Honorable Agtb, has been considered. In a letter dated October 6th last year,55 in which they ordered that their return ships this year should not arrive separately or in a line, but combined and as a fleet, it was unanimously decided, after due consultation, to send the Batavian and Ceylon return ships of the second order simultaneously from here to the homeland, and to send alongside them, as further reinforcement of this fleet, the captured two French ships, La Normande and Le Coche, the first the Goede Hoop (Good Hope) and the other Africa (56). The first would go to the Presidency of the Chamber of Zeeland and the other to that of Amsterdam, and the distribution and equalization would be handled by the Lords.
By way of provision, a skipper, chief mate and second mate will be appointed on each of the aforementioned ships, and the first will be manned with 45 crew members and the other with 60.

In jegenwoordigheid van alle de leden.
Bij resumtie in Raade overwogen zijnde onser Heeren en Meesteren ordres, vervat in haar Ed.Agtb. missive van den 6n October lestleden,55 waarbij zij bevelen, dat haar retourscheepen dit jaar niet separaat of á la file, maar gecombineerd en in een vloot sullen hebben te komen, soo is eenpariger stemme na rijpe raadsplegingh verstaan de Bataviasche en Ceijlonsche retourschepen der tweede besendingh te gelyk hier van daan na ‘t vaderland te laten vertrekken, en nevens deselve tot meerder versterking deser vloot op te senden de veroverde twee Fransche schepen, La Normande en le Coche , ‘t eerste de Goede Hoop en ‘t andere Africa 56 thans genaamd, sullende ‘t eerste voor de presidiale Camer Seeland en ‘t andere voor die van Amsterdam gaan en de repartitie en de egalisatie bij de Heeren Meesters geschieden.
