English translation

In the presence of all the members except Mr. Johs. van Keulen.

Dorhá, captain of the Sousequan Hottentots, nicknamed Claas by us, complained to the meeting about the harassment and violence inflicted upon him and his subjects, including murder and theft, by Koopman, one of his renegade and rebellious chieftains; and noting that the aforementioned Remonstrant, the Reverend Company, has always been faithful and loyal, and that he enjoys good services and benefits from him: It has been unanimously agreed to grant his request and, to prevent further disaster, to offer him a helpful and firm hand, and through a sergeant of this establishment, with four soldiers, to the aforementioned captain. To summon the merchant hither, and then, under sharp threats, to order him to behave quietly, peacefully, and submissively to the aforementioned chief, and to return him the stolen cattle; and if he disobeys this order, to authorize the requester to attack him hostilely, strip him of his cattle and everything, and to appoint another chief in his place. Finally, for the benefit of the E.C.O., it was agreed to give the aforementioned Dorhá some tobacco, arrack, coral, and other merchandise from the E.C.O.'s warehouse, to be exchanged for cattle with the surrounding Hottentots.

Thus arrested and decided in the Castle of Good Hope on the date and year as above.
