The Reverend Commodore and the High Council, having been given a certain number of persons by the Reverend Church Council, to elect from among them the deacons or poor guardians of this city for the coming year, and although the required double number was not provided due to a lack of qualified persons, it has nevertheless been decided, after due deliberation, to elect as deacons of the Comps. Johannes van Engelen, warehouse manager, Roelof Bakker, assistant, and, without nomination, the insane asylum seeker Albert Koopman. On behalf of the free burghers Hendrik Snewind.
Thus arrested and confined in the Castle of Good Hope. Year and date as above.

Den Ed.Hr.Commendeur en Achtb. Raad, over-reikt zijnde door den Eerwaarde Kerkeraad seker getal persônen, om uijt deselve de diakonen of arme besorgers te deser stede voor ‘t anstaande jaar te verkiesen, en onangesien het vereijschte dubbeld getal, bij gebrek van bekwame luijden, niet opgegeven werd; So is egter na rijpe deliberatie verstaan, des onverminderd, tot diakonen ‘s Comps. wegen te verkiesen Johannes van Engelen,85 pakhuijs-meester, Roelof Bakker, adsist., en buijten nominatie den krankbesoeker Albert Koopman.86 Wegens de vrijburgers Hendrik Snewind.87
Aldus gearresteerd en besloten in ‘t Casteel de Goede Hoop. Jaar en dag als boven.
