The treasurer Ludoviq van der Stel, along with the dispensator Christian Freser,68 having resigned their extraordinary duties at the meeting, those of standard-bearer and those of lieutenant, with the promise to retain them at all times, if necessary, willingly and skillfully to fill the aforementioned positions at the service of the Royal Netherlands Navy. It has been unanimously agreed that, given that they have sufficient responsibility for their current and proper duties, and that this establishment will, in due course, be provided with competent and capable officers, they will grant their request and thank them for the services rendered since the presence of the latest French fleet.
The Board of Justice, having been weakened by the death of several members and otherwise,69 has approved and unanimously agreed to have the vacant positions filled by the standard-bearer, Isak Schrijver, along with the aforementioned dispensary, Christian Freser, and, after taking an oath before the Reverend Commender, to hold the same session.
The four newly appointed outhouse nurses, overseeing the Company's slaves and hospital, having been found too weak in number to properly carry out their duties, have agreed to add to them the wife of the fiscal, Mr. Johs. van Keulen, along with that of the shopkeeper, and to grant the inhouse nurse of the aforementioned hospital, for the convenience and comfort of the sick and impotent, two of the Company's slaves and an equal number of female slaves.
Thus arrested and confined in the Castle of Good Hope. Year and day as before.
