Having noted the Reverend Commendatore and presented his thoughts to the meeting regarding the dispatch of the whistle Baren, to no longer keep it ashore, and to discontinue its employment with this Customs officer upon the arrival of the galley "De Noord": There is a unanimous vote, largely in the service of the Reverend Company. approved and determined to prepare the aforementioned ship as quickly as possible to transport the requested provisions to the Mauritius counter and to launch the vessels of St. Augustine, Magelage, or Maringar on Madagascar, in order to acquire there, for the benefit of the Colony on Mauritius, between 13 and 20 slaves and to trade them for pieces of eight, provided that no gun, which is desired there, or other suitable merchandise is available here. For this purpose, administrator Andries de Man and Sr. Linnes, acting as commissioners, will issue from one of the money chests of the ship Waterland four hundred Mexican wedge-shaped, round, and well-coined pieces of eight, and in their place an equal sum will be paid, with the additional premium of ƒ1,350. from this cassa were placed there.65 The aforementioned whistle, having properly unloaded its cargo on Mauritius, would cross from there to Batavia, where, with the approval of the High Government of India, it would immediately return there.66
Thus arrested and confined in the Castle of Good Hope. Year and day as above.

D’ E.Heer Commendeur in opmerking genomen, en sijne gedagten omtrent het afvaardigen van ‘t fluijtje Baren ter vergadering voorgedragen hebbende, om ‘t selve niet langer an de wal te houden, en bij d’ ankomst van ‘t galjot de Noord het voornemen betreffende desselvs emploij omtrent dese Cust te staken: So is eenpariger stemme, ten meesten dienste der E.Comp. goedgevonden en vastgesteld, den opgemelten bodem, so haast immers mogelijk klaar te maken, om de geeijschte provisien voor ‘t comptoir Mauritius over te brengen, en de bhaijen St. Augustin , Magelage of Maringar op Madagascar an te gieren, om aldaar ten behoeve der Colonie op Mauritius thien a 20 slaven te bemagtigen en voor stukken van achten te verhandelen, angesien hier geen geweer, ‘t welke daar gewild is, of andere bekwame koopmanschappen voorhanden zijn, sullende ten dien einde uijt een der geld-kisten van ‘t schip Waterland door den administrateur Andries de Man en sr. Linnes, als gecommitteerdens, vierhonderd Mexicanse wigtige, ronde en wel gemunte stukken van agten geligt en in derselver plaats wederom gelijke somme in paijement, met ‘t opgeld van dien, ter somme van ƒ1350 uijt dese cassa daar in gelegt werden.65 Sullende ‘t voors. fluijtje op Mauritius sijn lading behoorlijk gelost hebbende, daar van daan na Batavia oversteken om aldaar met goedvinden der Hoge Regering van India behoorlijk gerepareerd zijnde, anstonds herwards te keren.66
Aldus geärresteerd en besloten in ‘t Casteel de Goede Hoop. Jaar en dag als boven.
