English translation

In the presence of all the members except Rev. Hieronymus Cruse and Johs. van Keulen.

The Rev. Commender, having presented to the meeting the written request of the high-ranking officers of the present French ships to be assisted with some refreshments for the recovery of their illnesses, was therefore, after careful consideration, generally considered in the best interests of the Rev. Company, and decided, in order to prevent all estrangement and cause for dissatisfaction and to further cultivate the King of France's affection for the Rev. Company, to grant them, in the name and on behalf of our Lords and Masters, eight hundred pounds of rice and six hundred pounds of flour.

And to the Lords General de Farges, Admiral de Vaudricourt, both envoys de la Loubert and Sebret, with the following: Vice-Admiral du Quesne, each with a young ox and six sheep.33

Thus arrested and confined in the Castle of Good Hope. Year and day as above.
