English translation
The Reverend Commendatore having had the cash deposited here in the Company's treasury recorded and having found it to be fruitless, it was unanimously decided to send the sum of ten thousand nine hundred and nine guilders, one stiver and four pence, to Batavia at the Comptoir General, together with the present ship Bantam.
Furthermore, it was agreed and approved, for the greater part of the ƒ200,000 in gold taken from the ships Bantam and the Knighthood, in accordance with our Lords and Masters' orders, ƒ150,000 per the ship "De Eenhoorn," and the remaining ƒ50,000, as not being as defensive as the other, to be shipped to Ceylon via Schiebroek. It has been agreed between both sides that they will not venture into the Leeuwenberg corner, currently anchored in the Saldaigne Bay, but that they will continue their journey as quickly as possible between this coast and Madagascar, with the stipulation that neither will have to leave the other, whether within sight of or off the Maldivian Islands, at which point each will be free to do their best to reach Ceylon.21
Thus arrested and confined in the Castle of Good Hope. Year and day as above.
