The Honorable Commender, having seen and considered in Council the order of the Honorable Lord General and Council of India contained in the same letter of December 12, 1686,15 to send to her Honorable, divided on two ships, the manuscripts of the Siamese ambassadors concerning what they received from the Treasury during their stay here: It has been unanimously understood and approved to send the duplicate of the aforementioned manuscripts, currently in the custody of the Treasurer,16 to her Honorable by the ship Capelle, notwithstanding that on September 5 of last year the first set of the aforementioned manuscripts was delivered to her Honorable, Honorable. Gr. Achtb. is delegated.
Furthermore, it has been agreed that all livestock which, due to damage sustained, either to the Complaints' or other people's gardens and crops, will be brought into the shelter and left there for two days without being released by the owners. These livestock will be taken to the Complaints' stable and fed there for seven days, with payment of 12 stuivers per day for each horse, cow, ox, and other large livestock, and as appropriate for small livestock. If, after the aforementioned seven days, the owner does not wish to release his livestock, they will be sold by public auction to the highest bidder, and the damage will thus be compensated.
It is further stipulated that no one will wash dirty linen or other clothing anywhere other than in the appropriate place within the rampart and on its east side, on penalty of forfeiting it to the fiscal in each case.
Furthermore, no one will be allowed to keep geese, ducks, or other birds in the city wall, or to allow them to swim there, under penalty of an arbitrary fine and forfeiture of the birds.17
Finally, it has been decided that, for the maintenance of the roads, streets, houses, and buildings of this city, the fiscal will be instructed, in the presence of the captain of this town and the town council, to hold a public inspection twice a year, namely in the middle of May and November, and to notify the residents 14 days in advance of each inspection to keep the roads, streets, and city wall, as far as their territory extends, clean and tidy, and free from damage. Year after year, the first inspection will be on the 15th of May and November as stated, the second on the 17th, and the third on the 19th of the following year. In the aforementioned manner, those found to be negligent in any matter shall forfeit a Rixd. for the first time, two Rixd. for the second time, and three Rixd. for the third time, and bear the additional costs incurred by the commission and completion of the neglected work.18
Thus arrested and confined in the Castle of Good Hope, for the year and day as above.

D’ E.Hr.Commendeur, gesien en overwogen hebbende in Rade d’ ordres van den EdIe. Heer General en Raden van India in derselver missive van 12 December 1686 vervat,15 om haar E.Ed. op twe schepen verdeeld toe te senden de handschriften der Heeren Siamse ambassadeurs nopende ‘t gene sij geduurende hun verblijv alhier uijt ‘s Comps. cassa genoten hebben: So is eenparig verstaan en goedgevonden het duplicat der voors. handschriften, thans onder den cassier berustende,16 haar E.Ed. per ‘t schip Capelle toe te senden, onangesien dat den 5 September lestleden met het schip St. Martensdijk ‘t eerste stel der voors. handschriften an haar welgemte. E.Ed. Gr.Achtb. afgevaardigd is.
Verders is verstaan dat alle het vee ‘t welke wegens gedane schade, het zij an ‘s Comps. of andere luijden thuijnen en gewassen, in ‘t schuthok gebragt, en twe dagen aldaar gestaan hebbende sonder dat ‘t van d’ eigenaars gelost werd, hetselve vee na ‘s Comps. stal gevoerd, en aldaar seven dagen lang gevoed sal werden, betalende voor ieder paard, koeije, osse en ander groot vee 12 stuijvers ‘s daags, en voor ‘t kleine vee na gelangen, en ingeval na verloop der voors. seven dagen d’ eigenaar sijn vee niet begeerd te lossen, dat ‘t selve bij openbare veilinge an den meestbiedende verkogt, en so doende de schade vergoed sal werden.
In ‘s gelijken is verstaan dat niemand elders dan ter behoorlijker plaatse in de burgwal en an desselvs oostkant vuijl linnen of ander gewaad wasschen sal, op poene ‘t selve t’ elkens an den fiscal te verbeuren.
Ook sal niemand vermogen gansen, eenden of ander gevogelte in de burgwal te houden, of aldaar te laten swemmen, onder arbitrale boete en verbeurte van ‘t gevogelte.17
En eindelijk is verstaan tot onderhouding van wegen, straten, huijsen en gebouwen deser stede den fiscal te gelasten in ‘t bijwesen van den capitain deser besetting en den Borgerraad in der tijd jaarlijx twemaal, te weten in ‘t midden van Maij en November, schoudag te houden en d’ ingesetenen t’ elkens 14 dagen te voren te doen waarschouwen om de wegen, straten en burgwal, voor so verre hun erv strekt, net en suijver en haar buijten schade te houden, sullende jaar op jaar d’ eerste schouwdag den 15 Maij en November als geseid is, de twede den 17, en de derde den 19 anvolgende in maniere voors. gehouden werden, sullende diegene die ergens in nalatig bevonden werden voor ‘t eerste maal een Rixd. voor ‘t twede maal twe Rixd. en voor ‘t derde maal drie Rixd. an den fiscal verbeuren en daar en boven de kosten dragen, dewelke door ‘t besteden en op maken van ‘t nagelate werk staan gedaan te werden.18
Aldus gearresteerd en besloten in ‘t Casteel de Goede Hoop, jaar en dag als boven.
