Presently omnibus, dempto Linnes.
The fiscal, following orders received from the Honourable Commander to thoroughly investigate the cause of the miscarriage of one of the Honourable Commander's slaves, brought the case to trial in Raade. In all likelihood, the cause was nothing other than the severe beatings that, after he had been brought to his attention, one of the Honourable Commander's slaves had given her, tearing her from her sleeping place and abusing her with blows and thrusts until her husband came to the aid of his pregnant wife.
Therefore, the aforementioned slave was approved in Raade. lodging, others at the mirror, to be severely flogged by cavaliers in the presence of the commissioners.14
Thus arrested and confined in the Castle of Good Hope, year and day as above.

De fiscâl volgens ontfangene ordre van den E.Hr. Commandeur om na d’ oorsaack van den misval van een der E.Comps. slavinnen naukeurig ondersoeck te doen, heeft an sijn E. in Raade beright gedaan, ‘t selve na alle waarschijnlickheid nergens anders van ontstaan te zijn, als uijt de harde slagen, die na dat hem onder-reght was, een der E.Comps. slaven haar gegeven hadde, deselve van haar slaapplaats afruckende en met slaan en stoten so lang mishandelende tot dat haar13 man sijn swangere vrouw was te hulpe gekomen.
Dierhalven is in Raade goedgevonden den opgemelten slaav in Comps. logie, andere ten spiegel, in ‘t bijwesen van gecommitteerdens wel strengelijk an een paal door caffers te doen geesselen.14
Aldus gearresteerd en besloten in ‘t Casteel de Goede Hoop, jaar en dagh als boven.
