In view of the old Lord Commander's residence, which stood within the formerly demolished Fort, according to the express order of the High Noble Sir Hendrick Adriaan van Reede, Lord of Mijdrecht & a, representing the meeting of the 17th as Commissioner, now that it has already fallen into disrepair to such an extent that only the place previously provisionally appropriated as a bakery for the general garrison remains, and that the said Highness His Ede has expressly ordered that at the first opportunity the aforementioned to understand the bakery within the Castle, as was also the further recommendation of the Reverend Commander before his departure inland, so that the members of this Council together set about finding such a suitable place; until then, having considered the surrounding area in the Castle, no more suitable opportunity could have been found for this than in the cortijn between the bulwarks of Orangie and Nassou, which subsequently was also arrested with common advice in the middle of the aforementioned. to appropriate a suitable and convenient bread bakery for the general garrison, 29 feet long and 14 feet wide,[86] for which the old and still undamaged materials of the aforementioned demolished Lord Commander's residence will be used, as well as, to avoid fire and other mishaps, to cover the roof with tiles, which will provide considerable peace of mind.
