Since the arrested person is at the time when we have resolved to let the return ship, the Burgh van Lijden, depart from here to the ports of our homeland, as has now appeared to appear, and later on the cust Chormandel has arrived here on the way back to our homeland, the rented yacht Juffr. Anna, as well as the letters and papers to our Lords-in-Chief are in readiness, the Noble Commissioner van Goens, the Council, assisted by the skippers of the aforementioned two return boats, once again deliberates [sic] on whether there are any reasons that might cause us to alter our previous resolution regarding this matter, to let the aforementioned to keep ships to the principal return fleet from India longer, in order to depart from here in combination with it, as Her Honor, the High Government of India, in its letter of August 16 of the past year to the Noble Governor and the Councillor to Chormandel in the reguart of Miss Anna, have kindly ordered. This was also communicated to the Commander and the Councillor in loco, but it should be noted that the same reflects on the troubling thoughts that Her Honor, have had concerning the unpeaceful times of our state in Europe, which have now come to an end with the certain news of the Treves47, and no firm position can be made on the return fleet from India, the arrival of which could still take a whole month or longer, taking into account the usual laying days of the same here in the river, where by the aforementioned ships would still have to be held up for a considerable time, to the considerable expense of the Company without that itself, in order to the aforementioned. alluded to the fact that the return ship, the Burgh van Leijden, according to the statement of skippers Nouters and Speelman,49 has been repaired and refitted to such an extent that the voyage to the homeland could be made without the slightest difficulty, and was deemed as suitable for this purpose by them as the Juffr. d’ Anna or any other ship could be, wherefore, after further careful deliberation, for the greatest benefit of the Company. It has been unanimously resolved and approved to adhere to our previous resolution in full, and to allow the aforementioned two return ships to continue their journey to the homeland tomorrow (in God's Name) without further delay.
Thus arrested and resolved at Cabo de Boa Esperance, at the house of Rustenburgh, dated 20th.
