English translation

Since it is found that when an exchange has to be made inland during the winter or rainy season, ours, due to the large influx of water from the high African mountains, sometimes have to remain in the rivers with the animals for 14 days or longer before they can reach them, to the great detriment of the Company. Therefore, it has been decided to have 2 or 3 planks of sand built below the rivers, so that they can be deployed for this purpose at such an opportunity. This will then be readily available when the planned journey to the Namacquas is undertaken. Considering that the intention of baking and glazing pots, undertaken by the Commander-in-Chief, was found to be so successful, it was decided to extrude a pottery kiln outside the castle, but that Cape baked stone would not be used for this purpose, for the largest quantities.

Thus resolved in the Castle of Good Hope, dated the sup.
