Van den Oliphant 20
Total[^14] 50 heads. In addition to victuals for the same for three months, to help them get back on their feet, and to assist the few remaining members of the Dromedary and Heron to work on the fortifications and, with their help, to reach the defense more quickly. Furthermore, in order to ensure that both parties can have their needs met, and the victuals for the Cape of Holland are given sufficient and not too hastily consumed by so many more people. It is understood that the Whale will bring in supplies for its 30 guests.
1400 lb. bread, 1 barrel of meat, 1 do. Speck, 1/2 aem olive oil, 1/2 aem vinegar, 1 lot of salt, 270 cans of wine, 3 barrels of barley or ore, and a lot of stockfish, for 3 months.
And the Elephant for 20 men:
1000 lbs. bread, 1 barrel of meat, 1 barrel of speck, 1/2 aem olive oil, 1/2 aem vinegar, a lot of salt, 180 cans wine, a lot of stockfish, 2 barrels of barley or ore, for 3 months.
Of which the chief merchant Riebeeck will pass a proper receipt to the respective chiefs of the aforementioned ships so that they can account for it in Batavia.
And among the aforementioned 20 men of the Elephant, the sub-barber Leendert Leendertsz is also assigned to the Council on the ship Drommedaris, to sail to Batavia.
Boss Sijmon Cornelisz of Amsterdam is also assigned from the ship Reijger to the yacht Goede Hope to perform his duties as a sailmaker on the yacht, for which purpose his salary is hereby increased from 10 to 14 guilders per month, for which his contracted time will be served.
Thus resolved and arrested on the ship Drommedaris, at the dock in Table Bay at Cabo de Boa Esperance, on the date and year as above.
