English translation

The following persons have been nominated to us by the captains of the ship the Prince (also mentioned below) in order to be relieved of them because they are filthy snappers, drunkards and gamblers: they usually cause trouble and a lot of unrest, etc. causing considerable disturbances among the people and in the ship's discipline, etc., which caused them to fear or be afraid of further disasters or difficulties, so that in order to be allowed to cross in peace and quiet, we immediately requested, as before, that we take them ashore here, and some others named in the place to be transferred, namely:

Having carefully considered and considered the great price that this ship (going alone at sea) is subjected to, due to the security as previously approved, the chiefs thought it reasonable to grant their request, in order to allow the Company's ship and to sail safely and securely under good discipline from our Lord. In order to bring Mrs. t’huis, and to keep the common and other people on the ship in even greater devotion and reverence, it was also agreed that the aforementioned persons should first be kept here on land in the ice until the ship departed, so that they might be well protected from it, etc.

Thus done and resolved in the Fort of Good Hope on the date and year as above.
