On the proposal made by the Honourable Commander Soo, it has been unanimously decided, to prevent all fraud, that the chief butcher will henceforth no longer provide meat to passing ships unless presented by one of the ship's officers, namely, one lb. (whether mutton or beef) per day for each man, that the butcher will explicitly weigh it to the said officer; who, in return, must provide him with a receipt of the goods received as his justification.
Thus done and resolved at the Castle of Good Hope, date of issue.

Op de gedaane propositie van den E.Hr. Commandeur Soo is eenhelligh g’arresteert, tot voorcominge van alle fraude, dat den baas slager voortaan geen vlees aan de passeerende scheepen sal verstrecken als in presentjie van een der scheepsofficieren, te weten voor ijder man een lb. (‘t zij schapen off rundervleesch) daaghs, dat hij slager den voorseijden officier pertinentlijck sal toewegen; die hem in tegendeel een recipis van den ontfangh tot sijn verantwoordingh sal moeten verleenen.
Aldus gedaen en geresolveert in ‘t Casteel d’ Goede Hoope, datum uts.
