Although by resolution dated April 27th, the small hooker ship d'Quartel was arrested, the return fleet from Batavia was added to a fore-sailer to the Patria, for the reasons widely deduced to be detained here and used for the slave trade in Madagascar in the Bay of St. Augustine, and has since been sent off to cruise on the said fleet around Cape Aquilles, without anything as yet having come to light: So it is now proposed at the meeting of Mr. Jacobus van der Waeijen,74 Commander of the return fleet and Commissioner of his residence, that the return fleet of the said small hooker ship, since the usual time is very elapsed and late in the year, in passing behind Hitland and around the north, as well as in calling at the ports of our country, in discovering these and other coasts and other necessities for greater security and protection of the fleet, and consequently requiring at most that repatriation be made in company with the aforementioned fleet, it has been approved (after previous deliberation) and understood that the aforementioned small ship should appear in the meantime, be repatriated in company with the returning fleet, so that it can serve as before at the time of: insert the aforementioned small ship, which the High Indian government has assigned to the fleet as a precursor.

The written commission of Mr. Jacobus van der Waeijen, deputed by the High Indian Government on His Eminence to inspect this residence as Commissioner, having been read and summarized in Council: Subsequently, the Chief, Mr. Hendrik Crudop, and other members of the Council, notified His Eminence, pursuant to the mandate of Their Honor. The High Indian Government, with all due obedience, have accepted His Eminence to recognize, respect, and obey Him, as well as to render all help and assistance in this matter.

Thus resolved and arrested in the Castle of Good Hope on the day and year aforesaid.
