English translation

In accordance with our decision taken this morning in this Council, the privileged cool wine tappers Joan Valckenrijck and Gerrit Victor appeared, as well as the respective wives of the strong liquor merchants Willem van Dieden and Thobias Marcquart. The latter (due to the absence of the aforementioned husbands) declared that they were authorized and empowered to enter into a contract with the E. Company concerning the tapping business for the coming year 1679 (as we are also aware that they are very much involved in this matter). Our resolution was made known to the aforementioned two parties, and each was specifically questioned about its style. Their respective privileges, further expressed in the aforementioned resolution and clearly presented to them, desired to continue, whereupon the parties jointly, each in particular, after little debate, accepted the same conditions, and on that basis requested continuation until the forthcoming return flight, and also accepted it from us, which, upon the return of the aforementioned Van Dieden and Marcquart, were further procured here upon their approval.

Thus resolved at the Fort of Good Hope, date above.

The aforementioned Dieden and Marcquart, having been asked by me at the request of the Council, whether they could comply with the above resolution, in the regulations of the strong drinking tap, and the conditions accepted by their respective wives, which each has specifically declared to fully confirm.91

Which I witness, A. DE MAN, Secrts.
