English translation

Presently omnibus.

Noting that the letters and other enclosures for Sumatra to Batavia have now been prepared in full for the closing and have been summarized and read in consultation by the Governor, and that two or three ships have not yet been seen around Robbeneyland, which could hardly be approached by the strong headwind. It has been decided and understood (in order to see whether the aforementioned ships can still be seen and to advise their Honors of Batavia of this) to close the letters at noon and then allow that ship to proceed (without further delay, on its intended journey in accordance with our resolution taken on the 25th of this month).

Furthermore, as the merchant...115 Focquenier van 't Huijs in Velsen, with its skipper mentioned in our latest resolution, had shown his Honour to be completely at odds with his Honour regarding his incompetence and out of fear that the discord of the aforementioned chief officers might very easily cause something detrimental to the Comp's ship and property, the Honourable Governor-Commander116 amicably agreed with these two different individuals117 and their matter (under the strong recommendation of the other that they should henceforth tolerate it better) was so nullified and redressed that they were forced to promise never to resign in such a manner again. And to further prevent such a recurrence, it has been further decided to furnish them with proper instructions.

Thus done and resolved at Fort d'Hoop on the day and year aforesaid.
